The North-east Youth Ambassadors have called on other Nigerian youths to suspend the planned protests scheduled for August 1, Thursday, just as it accused the opposition of sponsoring the protests.

As stated in a press release signed and issued to journalists (including Arewa PUNCH) on Wednesday, Comrade Haruna Usman insisted that the North-east youth would take the lead and halt the plans for the protest.

“Our region is renowned for our love of peace and respect for our leaders and elders,” Usman stated.

He added, “We encourage the youth to pray to Almighty Allah and trust in His guidance instead,” he noted.

The statement maintained that “the planned protest appears to be an orchestrated effort by those who do not support the government of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aiming to distract the government from the remarkable development work it has already accomplished.’’

“This government has achieved significant progress, and we must support its efforts rather than hinder them. Therefore, on behalf of the North-east Ambassadors, we call on all Nigerian youth to cease any plans for protests.

“This movement (protest) is nothing more than an attempt to destabilise our country.”

Haruna insisted that “for the betterment of Nigeria, we must stand together, support our government, and continue to pursue peace and progress.”
