Former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Kano Pillars are set to return to their home ground, the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano for their upcoming fixtures in the league this weekend.

The matchday 12 clash will see Kano Pillars hosting their opponents, Heartland, on Sunday, marking a significant moment for the team and their dedicated fans.

Note that Kano Pillars have been playing their home games away from home at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium in Katsina because the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano was undergoing renovation.

During their time there, the team has shown competitive spirit, achieving an impressive record of three wins, one draw, and one loss. Their latest result saw them secure their second away win of the season against Bendel Insurance, further boosting their morale as they prepare to return home.

As it stands, Kano Pillars find themselves positioned fifth on the NPFL table with a total of 17 points, a testament to their resilience and determination in the league so far.

Meanwhile, Shooting Stars’ technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has expressed optimism following his team’s recent victory over El-Kanemi Warriors.

This decisive 3-0 win at the Lekan Salami Stadium not only ended El-Kanemi’s unbeaten run but also served as a significant confidence boost for the Oluyole Warriors.

Ogunbote believes that the momentum gained from this win will play a crucial role as his team gears up for an upcoming match against Ikorodu City.

He shared his thoughts with the club’s media, saying, “I think the outcome of our last game will enhance the confidence of the boys. My hope has always been for us to have a level playing ground in our matches. With that in place, we can concentrate on playing our game and strive to achieve a positive result.”

The encounter between Shooting Stars and Ikorodu City will be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, on Sunday.

This match marks a historic moment, as both teams will be facing each other for the very first time in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
