The head coach of Abia Warriors, Imama Amakpakabo, has acknowledged the tough nature of his team’s draw against Sunshine Stars in the NPFL last weekend.

Amakpakabo commended his players for maintaining discipline throughout the match and emphasized the need to work on converting more of the chances they create.

“Another point on the road, tough as it is,” he told Abia Warriors media.

“I think we were able to keep our heads and organization throughout the game.

“We have to go back and work on how to convert most of the chances we have been creating.”

Ikorodu City See Positive in away draw

Ikorodu City’s head coach, Bright Ozebagbe, viewed the draw against Kwara United as a positive result for his team.

He highlighted the importance of building on the positives from the game and expressed optimism about their upcoming fixture against Rangers.

“We had a full one week of rest after our journey to Kano,” Ozebagbe said in a post-match interview.

“I also understand that this is the Premier League where we had to play differently.

“But we had to play our game and hope for the best.”

Kwara United Coach Blames Players For Draw

Kwara United’s technical adviser, Tunde Sanni, expressed disappointment in his players for their performance in the goalless draw against Ikorodu City.

He attributed the result to his players’ eagerness to score, which led to selfish play upfront, deviating from their training preparations.

“I don’t understand why my players had to be selfish upfront,” Sanni said in a post-match interview.

“They were too eager to score and resorted to selfish play upfront.

“This wasn’t what we practiced at training.”

Sunshine Stars Disappointed

Sunshine Stars’ head coach, Kennedy Boboye, expressed disappointment with the outcome of their match against Abia Warriors.

Following the tough game, he emphasized the need to focus on the next match against Akwa United.

“We have put the outcome of the match behind us; it’s done and dusted; our target now is the next game against Akwa United,” he told the club’s media.

“The game was very tough; we played against a good team but it’s still a mirage how two goals were disallowed and we had another penalty that was not given.”

Niger Tornadoes Coach Hails His Players

Niger Tornadoes’ head coach, Majin Mohammed, credited his team’s hard work and determination for their victory over Plateau United.

He praised the players’ execution of their roles and emphasized their solid defensive performance.

“We planned for this win. Our strategy worked perfectly. The players executed their roles exceptionally well,” Mohammed stated in a post-match interview.

“We knew Plateau United would push hard, but our defense was solid. The win is a testament to our team’s hard work and determination.”

He added, “They came to Kaduna and beat us last season, and we always had this in mind; that’s why we prepared so well for them.

“Tornadoes have been playing home matches away from home for a while now, so I can say it has become a mentality for them because they see every away game as a home game.”

Katsina United Happy With Draw

Katsina United expressed satisfaction with their goalless draw against Heartland, considering it a valuable point secured away from home.

The team acknowledged the missed chances in the game and reflected on their overall performance in the new season.

“A valuable point secured away from home,” Katsina United wrote on X.
