NPFL Updates: Aniyikaye Leaves Nigeria, 13 Players Leave Enyimba, See Others

Adeleye Aniyikaye has completed his move to the Iraqi Football League club, AL-kahrbaa SC, after ending his contract with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Shooting Stars.

The experienced defender has previously played for two other NPFL clubs, Lobi Stars and Bayelsa United, as well as representing Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles.

This marks Aniyikaye’s second time playing for a club outside Nigeria. Recall that the 29-year-old centre-back played for Sudanese club Al-Merrikh SC between 2021 and 2022.

Enyimba Say Bye To 13 Players

Former NPFL champions, Enyimba have announced the departure of 13 players, including club captain Ojo Olorunleke, Ikenna Cooper, and striker Chijioke Mbaoma.

The club expressed gratitude to the departing players as they unveiled their replacements.

Akwa United players undergo medical examination

Akwa United players have successfully undergone mandatory medical tests ahead of the 2024/25 NPFL season.

The club’s head of medical department, Doctor Obot Jackson, revealed that all players have been cleared to compete after undergoing Electrocardiogram (ECG) tests to ensure their sound health.

Chukwuebuka Enyiazu Leaves Nigeria

Nigerian youngster Chukwuebuka Enyiazu has secured a move to the Czech Republic’s Pardubice from Nigeria’s 36 Lion Academy.

Enyiazu, who plays as a centre-back, will spend the next three years with Pardubice after catching the eye of their scouts with his impressive performance at 36 Lion Academy.
