Heartland coach Charles Uzor is not disturbed over the change in venue for their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 fixture against Kano Pillars.
The NPFL match which will kick-off at 4 p.m. was originally set to take place at Kano Pillars’ temporary ground in Katsina but has now been moved to Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano following the approval of Pillars’ original home ground.
Despite this unexpected change, Uzor remains focused on his team’s objectives. “We are grateful for a smooth journey to Kano and are here with a clear purpose,” he stated in an interview with the club’s media. “While we were initially somewhat unsettled by the sudden venue change, we are dedicated to maintaining our focus.”
Uzor emphasized the importance of controlling what they can, saying: “We will plan and prepare as best as we can for the game ahead. Our squad is in great shape, and we are ready to face the notable presence of Ahmed Musa and others without any distractions. Our goal is to perform well and secure a positive result before heading back to Owerri.”
Nasarawa United’s Coach Express Optimism
Nasarawa United’s technical director, Kabiru Dogo, is optimistic that his team will be successful despite a challenging start to the season.
Following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, the Solid Miners find themselves in 19th position in the league standings.
Dogo reflected on the team’s performance in a post-match interview, acknowledging the disappointment while looking ahead.
“It’s been a tough beginning to the season, but we remain committed,” he said. “Though the result was disappointing, we created several chances and even had a numerical advantage but fell short of capitalizing.”
He reassured supporters, stating, “We will continue to fight and regroup, focusing on our areas of improvement as we advance.”

Meanwhile, Kano Pillars’ technical adviser, Usman Abdallah, has called on their supporters to exercise patience as the team returns to their home ground.
This marks a significant moment for the Sai Masu Gida, who will compete at Sani Abacha Stadium for the first time this season against Heartland.
Abdallah encouraged the fanbase, emphasizing their critical role in the team’s success. “I urge our supporters to stand by us and help transform the Sani Abacha Stadium into a stronghold once again. We appreciate your patience and unwavering support as we strive to deliver a positive result”, he said.
Currently, Kano Pillars sit fifth on the league table with 12 points from 11 matches, signalling their competitive spirit as they look to build momentum in the upcoming games.
