Niger Tornadoes are gearing up for their upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday nine clash against Katsina United, having recently shifted their focus following a setback.

The Ikon Allah Boys faced their first home defeat of the NPFL season against Rivers United on Monday, a result that has undoubtedly fueled their determination to bounce back stronger.

Under the guidance of coach Majin Mohammed, the team is preparing to face Katsina United this weekend at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.

In a statement on social media platform X, Niger Tornadoes conveyed their readiness to tackle the match with renewed vigour and focus. “We go again, more focused and determined, as we shift attention to our weekend clash against Katsina United on Saturday,” they wrote.

Interestingly, Niger Tornadoes have maintained an impressive record in away matches this season, remaining undefeated in their travels thus far in the NPFL. This gives them a sense of confidence as they approach the fixture.

NPFL Reschedules Game

The NPFL announced a rescheduling of the matchday nine encounter between Shooting Stars and Akwa United.

Initially set to take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan at 5:30 pm on Sunday, the kickoff has been moved to an earlier start time of 4:00 pm.

The announcement was confirmed by Shooting Stars via a statement on their X account, although the league body has not provided specific reasons for the change.

Shooting Stars have had a challenging start to the season, as they have recorded two wins, three draws, and three defeats. As they prepare for this upcoming match against Akwa United, the team will be hoping to turn around their fortunes and improve their standing in the league.
