The chairman of NPFL reigning champions, Rangers, Amobi Ezeaku, has urged the club’s supporters to be patient as the team undergoes a rebuilding process.

After Rangers’ 0-0 draw with El-Kanemi Warriors in the 2024-2025 NPFL season opener on Saturday, August 31, Ezeaku took to his X page to stress that the management is focused on establishing a strong foundation for the club’s sustainable growth.

“Trusting the process and building with patience is essential for creating a sustainable future for Rangers,” Ezeaku said.

“Both on and off the pitch. Success in football isn’t just about short-term victories; it’s about laying a strong foundation that can support consistent growth over time.

“On the pitch, this means developing a solid youth academy, nurturing local talent, and creating a culture of hard work and resilience. Investing in the right coaching staff, scouting network, and facilities will yield long-term benefits, even if the results aren’t immediate. Patience here allows for the development of a playing style and identity that can become a hallmark of the club…”

Akwa United’s player goes AWOL

Akwa United have reported Samuel Ganda as ‘Absent Without Official Leave’ after he failed to rejoin the team for two months.

Ganda is under contract with Akwa United until 2025, and the club has informed relevant football authorities about the situation.
