NPFL Updates: Solomon Joins Ikorodu City, Rangers Give Fans Free Ride To Uyo, See Others

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Ikorodu City have announced the signing of striker Alade Solomon from 1472 FC.

Alade Solomon, known for his goal-scoring prowess, is expected to add strength to Ikorodu City’s attacking lineup as they prepare for their debut NPFL campaign.

Enyimba Get CAF Deadline For Player Registration:

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has set a deadline for player registration for the 2024-2025 Confederation Cup.

Clubs participating in the competition have until August 31 to finalize the registration of players for the second round.

Note that two-time CAF Champions League winners, Enyimba have been exempted from the preliminary round.

The other Nigerian representative in the competition, El-Kanemi Warriors, are set to face Beninoise side Dadje FC in the first leg of the preliminary round at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Friday, August 16.

Doma United announce resumption date:

Doma United have released details regarding the resumption of players and officials for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.

Pre-season training for Doma United will commence on Saturday, August 24, as revealed by the club’s chairman, Suleiman Umar.

The club has also indicated that the screening of new players will be conducted by invitation only.

After being relegated from the NPFL last season, Doma United are gearing up to compete in the Nigeria National League next season.

Rangers to take fans to Uyo

In anticipation of their CAF Champions League clash with US Zilimadjou of Comoros, Rangers of Enugu have made arrangements for their supporters to travel to Uyo in large numbers.

A round-trip bus will be provided for supporters willing to make the journey for the encounter.

The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, has been selected as the venue for the preliminary round clash between Rangers and US Zilimadjou, as both clubs were unable to secure approval to use their home grounds.

Rangers will host the first leg on Sunday, August 18, with the reverse fixture scheduled for a week later.
