NPHCDA, NASS, health minister take free medical outreach to Bauchi

The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, in partnership with the National Assembly and Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Ali Pate, organised a Free Medical Outreach for residents of Miya, Ganjunwa Local Government Area, Bauchi State.

The outreach, which took place on Sunday at the Primary Health Center Miya, aimed to provide essential healthcare services, including free consultations, basic medical treatments, surgeries, assistive devices, and health education.

It also sought to raise awareness of preventive health measures in rural communities with limited access to healthcare services and specialists.

According to them, the significant collaborative effort is to improve healthcare access in underserved areas.

Consultant Gynaecologist at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBU), Abdullahi Kabir, commended the initiative, stating, “This free medical outreach is a commendable initiative that demonstrates the dedication of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, the National Assembly, and Ali Pate to improving healthcare in rural areas.

“Our team is fully prepared to provide quality medical services, ranging from consultations to treatments and health education, ensuring that residents of Miya and Ganjuwa receive the care they deserve.”

He further emphasised, “Healthcare is a fundamental right, and we are here to bridge the gap for underserved communities. This outreach will not only address immediate medical needs but also create awareness on preventive health measures.

“We appreciate the collaboration and effort of all partners involved in making this life-changing initiative possible. Together, we will continue to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and bring services closer to the people.”

The Chairman of Ganjuwa Local Government, Muhammad Idris, also expressed his gratitude, saying, “This initiative comes at a critical time when many of our people face challenges accessing basic medical care due to financial or logistical constraints.

“Seeing the outreach site bustling with healthcare professionals and residents being attended to gives me great hope. I encourage our people to take advantage of this opportunity and commend the tireless efforts of the medical team, led by Dr. Abdullahi Muhammad Kabir. This is a step forward in improving the health and well-being of our communities.”
