The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence, Katsina Command, Commandant of Corps Aminu Ahmed, alongside the Customs Area Controller of the Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina Area Command, Comptroller of Customs, Idris Abba-Aji, have on Monday pledged to collaborate towards curbing trans-border crimes and others in the State.
This was made known when the NSCDC Commander, Ahmed, paid a familiarisation visit to Customs Area Commander Abba-Aji at Customs House, Katsina.
According to a statement by Civil Defence Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Corps Buhari Hamisu and made available to Punch in Katsina late Monday, Ahmad emphasised that NSCDC and NCS have a long history of harmonious working relationship through different collaborations ranging from intelligence sharing, joint operations and training among others.
The statement read, “The State Commandant further noted the commitments and leadership vision of the Commandant General, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, towards national security and protecting critical national assets and Infrastructures in the Country.”
The NSCDC boss in the state reiterated that the purpose of the visit is to cement the already existing relationship between the two agencies. “I am here today to seek your cooperation, collaboration, and continuous synergy.
“The Command will continue to collaborate with NCS in promoting safety and security, protecting critical national assets and infrastructures, and combating all forms of trans-border crimes.
“I want to express my appreciation for the warm reception accorded to the team and me during the familiarisation visit,” the Commandant stated.
Responding, CC Idris Abba-Aji expressed happiness to receive the State NSCDC boss and his team in his office, noting his commitment to promoting a harmonious working relationship with NSCDC in the state.
Abba-Aji emphasised that Customs and NSCDC have conducted a series of successful operations in the State, and that would be sustained.
