Former Super Eagles forward, Nwankwo Kanu has expressed strong support for Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman to win the 2024 CAF Man’s Player of the Year award.

The CAF awards ceremony is set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday, December 16.

Ademola Lookman has been a key figure for the Super Eagles and finds himself among ten distinguished nominees for the CAF award. He is competing alongside his fellow teammate, William Troost-Ekong.

Lookman’s exceptional performances over the past year have garnered widespread recognition, solidifying his status as a leading contender for the award.

Note that the 27-year-old Lookman achieved a significant milestone this year by becoming the only African player nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, where he finished in 14th position. This recognition highlights not only his skills but also his contributions to his club and national team.

Nwankwo Kanu has underscored the significance of Lookman’s achievements, especially his impressive ranking in the Ballon d’Or.

In an interview with Brila FM, Kanu lauded Lookman, stating, “Lookman is a very good player, humble, and works very hard. Based on his records, I firmly believe he will win.”

He went on to emphasize the outstanding nature of Lookman’s season, asserting, “I don’t know of any African player who has performed better than him this year.”
