The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service has partnered with the Joint Tax Board to launch the 2025 Single Interstate Road Tax Stickers.

In a statement, the OGIRS noted that it aims to boost revenue generation with the tax sticker initiative, eliminate multiple road stickers, and simplify business operations.

Speaking at the OGIRS conference in Abeokuta, the executive chairman of OGIRS, Olugbenga Olaleye, highlighted the significance of the yearly launch to promote awareness and prevent the circulation of counterfeit stickers since 2022.

Olaleye was represented by the Director of Field Operations, Hezekiah Sobayo, who stressed the importance of collaboration in overcoming challenges, saying “For any initiative, there would be challenges. We are partners in progress, and we must come together to make Ogun State and Nigeria better.

“We will also work with vendors to minimize the challenges they are facing regarding the sale of the stickers.”

Olaleye clarified that the JTB is not responsible for revenue collection but coordinates and regulates tax collection processes.

He also revealed that the 2025 stickers have improved features to distinguish them from previous editions.

The Director of Other Taxes at OGIRS, Oluyomi Dawodu, appreciated the vendors’ cooperation with the initiative, pointing out that the collaboration among OGIRS, the State Ministry of Environment, and the 20 local governments in Ogun State has been instrumental in managing sticker sales effectively.

She urged vendors to ensure all stickers sold are duly registered for proper compliance.

The vendors’ representatives, Niyi Adebanjo and Jamiu Bello, commended OGIRS and JTB for the initiative and assured their commitment to boosting revenue sticker sales.

They also called on the authorities to address the challenges associated with inter- and intra-state operations.
