The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the September 21 Edo Governorship Election, Senator Monday Okpebholo has promised that his administration will build a flyover in Benin City to address the road infrastructure deficit, arrest traffic bottlenecks as well as improve the road aesthetics of the ancient city.
The APC governorship hopeful made this promise at the weekend while addressing a gathering of critical stakeholders in Benin City.
Okpebholo decried a situation whereby Edo State has not received attention from the incumbent government in this regard, whereas less financially buoyant states have all caught the bug of building modern roads, including flyovers, which are even more required in Benin City.
The APC governorship candidate took a swipe at the Obaseki PDP Government for running what he called “briefcase government” whereby those in government are more concerned about what they would take out of Edo State to other places.

Okpebholo said that it is regrettable that almost all Edo State government contracts are awarded to outsiders, which has led to capital flight that has deepened the poverty level in Edo State.
He promised that he would fulfil all his promises and redress the negative trend in the present government. He vowed to return the dividends of governance to Edo people if voted into office.
