On-form Pyunik striker Yusuf Olaitan now wants to be addressed as “senior man,”  a nickname that is synonymous with Nigeria and Sevilla forward Kelechi Iheanacho, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 32-year-old former Nigeria junior international feels he deserves to be so-called, given his impressive performance for his Armenian club, where he has notched five goals and rendered two assists in five games of the new campaign.

He took to his Instagram page on Thursday to share his delight at his splendid run with the side, laying claims to the name after his team defeated FK Van 3-1 in a Premier League Game Week 10 fixture at Harentsavan City Stadium, Charentsavan, a development that will definitely be frowned on by Iheanacho, who is currently in the Nigeria camp for Friday’s AFCON qualifier against Libya.

“Let’s take a stroll back to the real game celebration. Now you can put some respect on my name (Seniorman). It’s been God, strength, a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly, the support of my team. ALHAMDULILAH ROBIL ALAMEENAH. Thanks to everyone out there too who makes this possible. May we all live to more of God’s grace and many great celebrations,” stated Olaitan, who has been hitting the heights in Armenia with Pyunik since joining them from Ararat-Armenia in 2022. He scored 21 goals and provided seven assists last season for Pyunik.
