APC Governors who were also in Akure for the rally include Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State and Usman Ododo of Kogi State.

Other party stalwarts, including Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele from Ekiti, former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomole, Minister of Interior, Bunmi Tunji Ojo, Minister of Youth, Ayodele Olawande among others, are also on the ground for the rally.

The APC candidate, Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, succeeded the late Rotimi Akeredolu, who died on Dec. 26. 2023, while in office, and is the flag bearer of the party in the upcoming election scheduled for Saturday, 16th November.

It is understood that Shettima would visit the Palace of Deji of Akure, Oba Ogunlade Aladetoyinbo, before going to the campaign venue.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the Ondo State gubernatorial election, Agboola Ajayi, has said he is the only candidate addressing real issues affecting the citizens of the state.

Ajayi accused the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, of rushing to approve last-minute projects to woo voters.
