Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State gubernatorial election, is leading with a significant margin as collation of results nears completion.
According to figures announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Aiyedatiwa has garnered 301,113 votes, comfortably ahead of his closest rival, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who trails with 97,051 votes.
The wide margin of 204,062 votes highlights APC’s dominance in the election so far.
Results from three Local Government Areas (LGAs) are yet to be declared as final collation continues at INEC’s office in Akure, the state capital.
The collation exercise, which commenced at 12:35 a.m., is being overseen by the Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Lokoja.
