One Killed As Oil Tanker Crashes Into 10 Vehicles In Lagos

A tragic accident occurred early Sunday morning at Maryland, Lagos, where an oil tanker collided with 10 vehicles, resulting in one fatality.

Eyewitnesses reported that the accident took place near Kresta Laurel Plaza, Maryland, when the tanker, allegedly driven by an intoxicated driver, lost control and crashed into several vehicles.

He was unaware of the fact that he had rammed into the vehicles. The person who died was avoiding being hit by the tanker. He jumped out of his vehicle. Unfortunately, the tanker ran over him, smashing his head to the ground,” an eyewitness told Channels Television.

By the time of this report, police authorities had arrived at the scene to manage the situation and begin investigations into the incident.

Five Vehicles Burnt As Tanker Explodes In Ibadan

Meanwhile, chaos erupted when a petrol-filled tanker exploded, engulfing two articulated trucks, an 18-seater bus, two commercial taxis, and three motorcycles in the Iyana-Ajia area of Egbeda, Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Naija News understands that the tanker continues to burn while the other vehicles involved have been reduced to ashes as at the time of filing this report.

The incident took place along the Ibadan section of the Ibadan-Ife Expressway, in close proximity to the construction of the Iyana-Ajia bridge.

It has been reported that there were no fatalities resulting from this event.
