Nigeria’s celebrity musician, Chike Ezekpeazu Osebuka, popularly known as Chike, has one year after his tragic demise, recalled the togetherness he had with the late Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly called Mohbad.

Chike, who featured Mohbad in his ‘Egwu‘ track, said in his one-year remembrance message that Imole’s impact went beyond the music he played while alive.

The ‘SonofChike” album crooner stated that the “Walking Dead” crooner resonated the light his name Imole communicated.

On his X handle, on Thursday, the singer cried that Imole left the world tragically when the bond they were building was reaching its peak.

Thinking of you today, Mohbad. We created music together, but your impact goes beyond that. Your energy and talent still resonate. Your spirit and light continue to inspire, and I’m grateful for the bond we were building. Rest well, my friend. You will always remain in our hearts,” Chike wrote.

Mohbad or Imole, depending on the preference of his fans, died controversially in 2023. Mohbad’s controversial death provoked anger from his fans, government and the music world.

British-Nigerian singer, rapper and music producer, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known by his stage name, Naira Marley, has been a suspect in the death of Mohbad.

While the Lagos State government’s investigation and autopsy did not link Imole’s death to Naira Marley, many fans of Mohbad believed that the death of Imole required more investigation to unravel the actual cause of his death.
