The grand finale of the third Cycling Lagos Championship will hold on June 29, the organisers have announced.

As part of programme to mark the grand finale, a mini tour of cyclists and corporate sponsors/partners, such as Samsung, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Nutrify and Cway, among others, was held recently to create the awareness for the event.

The tour took off from Teslim Balogun Stadium to major streets on the Lagos Island and back to the stadium via the Third Mainland Bridge.

Speaking after the tour, the convener of Cycling Lagos and the Managing Director of BrandEscort Communications, Bamidele Adeleye, described the event as a rehearsal organised to demonstrate the readiness of the partners, organisers and cyclists for the grand finale of the event on Saturday, June 29.

“The Tour of Lagos is our simple way of informing Lagosians about our readiness to stage the August event. The Tour is a dress rehearsal ahead of the grand finale of the event that promises to be one of the biggest cycling competitions in Africa,” he said.

The third Cycling Lagos, with the theme “Sustainable Healthcare,” is expected to drive conversations on the need to embrace a healthcare policy that is environmentally friendly and to develop a healthcare system that ensures the health needs of the current population are met without compromising environmental, economic, or social resources for future generations.

Digital Marketing Manager, Samsung Electronics, West Africa, Michael Nwughala, expressed the brand’s excitement in sponsoring the cycling event to showcase its Galaxy Fit3 watch, a fitness tracker designed to offer a range of health and activity tracking features in a sleek, wearable device.

“The Galaxy Fit3 aims to provide a comprehensive yet affordable fitness tracking solution for Nigerians looking to monitor and improve their health and fitness levels,” Nwughala said.
