Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has said that his government is committed to upholding its social contract with the people.

This came as members of the State House of Assembly endorsed the governor for a second term.

The governor, who delivered his State of the State address yesterday at the State House of Assembly Complex to mark the second anniversary of his administration, said he remains steadfast and unyielding in delivering the dividend of democracy to the people.

He said the administration has continued to steer Ekiti towards a more inclusive and prosperous state in the last two years.

“In keeping with our social contract with the Ekiti people, we designed the “Six Pillars “, a classification of our governing agenda built from our campaign pledges.

“We are driven by a passionate desire to bring prosperity to Ekiti people in the quickest time possible. We understand the urgency of the development agenda and will do everything within our powers to achieve the vision of our founding fathers”.

The governor listed eight key areas where his government had achieved much in line with the six pillars agenda, including law and order, investment promotion, administration, economy, education, health/human services, social welfare, agric/rural development, and infrastructure/industrialisation.

In his address, the Speaker, Rt Hon Aderiye Aribasoye, said Governor Oyebanji has performed very well and is fit and proper for the mandate given to him.

He said, ” Ekiti, in the last two years under Oyebanji, has been progressive on all fronts. Under my watch, the assembly will continue to be responsive and responsible”.
