Hon. Debo Ogundoyin, speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly has hailed Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for signing into Law the Bill establishing Oyo State Mobilization Agency for Socio-Economic Development (OMASED).
Hon. Ogundoyin, who under his leadership the State has witnessed a cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government commended Oyo State for leading and setting another pace for others to follow in the area of public advocacy and communication for all round meaningful development.
Recall that the agency was established shortly after Governor assumed office for his second term as Oyo State governor. According to the governor, “This agency will be mandated to establish a public orientation and sensitization framework into which all agencies and departments of government must key in”.
He further said “This framework will ensure continuous sensitisation and enlightenment using traditional, electronic, and social media. I further direct that this framework should incorporate a timetable for the enforcement of all existing traffic, waste management, and street trading laws”. With the passing and signing into Law, OMASED is set to hit the ground running.

In his brief remarks at the signing of the bill ceremony held a few days ago, Rt. Hon. Ogundoyin said that “OMASED would be pivotal in mobilizing resources, fostering community engagements and ensuring that development projects are effectively implemented and sustained”. The Speaker also congratulated the Special Adviser to the Governor on Socio-Economic Development, Dr. Morohunkola Thomas on his appointment as the Director General of OMASED.
