Students from Pampers Private School have secured the first and second positions in the Lagos State Annual Mathematics Olympiad, organised by the Mathematics Association of Nigeria.

This year’s winners, Rebecca Eleanya (first position) and Masenken Gang (second position) will compete for the National title at the finals, scheduled to be held in August, 2024.

A statement by the school said,  PPS was proud to announce that for the 8th year in a row, a student of PPS would always emerge winner.

“Since 2016, Pampers Private School has remained undefeated, consistently maintaining the first position in Lagos State, and going on to represent the State at the National Championship.

“Eleanya (Head Girl) and Gang (Deputy Head Girl) are not the only winners recognised at the State level. McFranklin Obande and Jidechi Nwobodo came in joint fourth while Nathan Asiafa earned the fifth position at the State Championship.

The Deputy Director of Studies, Mr Kingsley Okorodudu, said, “We at Pampers are once again humbled by the success of our students. We know how much work goes on in the classrooms and so the external recognition that comes from not one but five of our students, earning top five places in the MAN Olympiad, is both rewarding and motivating. In the last 12 years, we have earned the State title 10 times (eight of those consecutively) and the National title twice in 2015 and 2018. Our new goal is to maintain the same consistency at the National level that we have been able to achieve in Lagos State.”

Pampers Private School has nurtured generations of children for over 40 years. The school focuses on providing the right blend of the Nigerian and Cambridge Curricula, to equip her students with the required knowledge and moral training needed to thrive in a global world.
