A Nigerian footballer, Paul Julius, who was plying his trade in Cyprus, has died in a car accident, according to his club, Enosis Neon Paralimniou.

Paul Julius, who was 20 years old and played majorly as a forward, died after his car collided with another vehicle on the Paralimni-Protaras road in Cyprus.

Julius’ club, Enosis Neon Paralimniou, shared the heartbreaking news of his passing on their official website, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

The statement released by the club paid tribute to Paul’s determination and resilience, acknowledging the challenges he overcame to pursue his dreams.

The club’s statement reads: “It is with deep sadness and pain that we express our sincere condolences on the unexpected loss of our footballer, Paul Julius.

“The tragic news of his death has shocked us all. Despite the hardships and sufferings he faced to join our family, he remained steadfast and determined to fulfill his goals.

“His memory will live on in our minds and his absence will be felt.

“We are with his family and his loved ones during this difficult time.

“May he rest in peace.”

Note that Paul Julius had only recently joined Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimniou after transferring from the Egyptian side El Gaish.
