Naija News reports that the party elected 18 executive members and one national delegate representing the state’s local government councils during the party’s congress held on Tuesday, August 20, across the councils.

Reports have shown that the congress was conducted without any disruptions or conflicts.

The newly elected executive committee will lead the party at the local government level for the next four years.

Some delegates who spoke with journalists highlighted the importance of this exercise in ensuring the selection of credible executives who will guide the party’s operations within the local government councils.

Filled with satisfaction over the results, the party’s leadership, through its spokesperson, Andeta’rang Irammae, encouraged the newly elected party officers to work diligently to maintain the party’s momentum in achieving electoral success in the state.

The chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council, Mohammed Umar, described the peaceful conduct of the congress as a significant achievement in the state’s political landscape, noting that the process leading to the election of the executive committee was one of the most peaceful in the state’s history.

“The peaceful conduct of the congress was a testament to the commitment of the party members to uphold democratic values and principles,” he told Daily Post.

Emphasizing the significance of cohesion and cooperation among the newly appointed executive members, Umar called upon them to fulfil the expectations the party and the community placed upon them.

He also emphasized that their primary duty is to prioritize the populace’s interests, ensuring their concerns and requirements are acknowledged.

Moreover, the council’s chairman urged them to maintain regular interactions with the ward executives and strive to accomplish the party’s objectives, in addition to welcoming new members into the organization.
