Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola is looking forward to the outcome of the upcoming Financial Fair Play (FFP) hearing set to commence on Monday.

Pep Guardiola emphasized that the team has not discussed the matter within the dressing room and expressed anticipation for the verdict to be delivered by the independent panel.

In a pre-match press conference ahead of their league game against Brentford, Pep Guardiola said, “Hopefully it finishes soon. The independent panel will decide. Looking forward to the decision.”

Regarding the FFP proceedings, Guardiola clarified, “I’m not a lawyer, there are many in this country and Spain. I wait to see. No [talked about in the dressing room]. Erling is not a lawyer. It’s gone to an independent panel. I don’t talk to them about that.”

Expressing his contentment that the hearing is commencing on Monday, Guardiola acknowledged the likelihood of speculations but stressed the importance of waiting for the official decision. He asserted, “I know what people are looking for. Everybody is innocent until proven guilty.”

The charges against Manchester City pertain to a breach of financial fair play rules over a nine-year period spanning from 2009 to 2018. During this period, City secured the Premier League title three times.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola indicated that there is uncertainty surrounding the potential availability of Erling Haaland for their Premier League encounter against Brentford.

Haaland recently experienced the loss of a close friend while on international duty, prompting Guardiola’s consideration of Haaland’s mental and physical readiness to play in the game.

Guardiola expressed his empathy, saying, “Tough moment for him and his family. Sad news. Our thoughts are with him and his family.”

Haaland’s strong start to the season with consecutive hat-tricks and a total of seven goals in three fixtures underscores his significance to the team.

With Manchester City currently leading the Premier League standings with nine points, Haaland’s prospective absence might have little or no impact on their performance this Saturday.
