Peter Obi Now Leading Prophet of Doom – APC Fires Back

2 days ago 2

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has labeled Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, as Nigeria’s “leading prophet of doom.”

This statement, issued by APC spokesperson Felix Morka on Thursday, was in response to Obi’s recent criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

During a press conference, Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening economic and security challenges, accusing Tinubu’s government of failing to address critical issues. He challenged the President to visit Nigerian hospitals and travel locally to witness firsthand the deteriorating state of the nation.

Reacting, the APC dismissed Obi’s remarks as misleading and politically motivated.

“While Nigerians celebrated the New Year with hope for a more glorious 2025, Peter Obi was seemingly stuck in a replay of his jangling, gloom-ridden wishlist for our country,” Morka stated.

“Obi’s New Year message, in which he claimed that our dear country’s political, economic, and security situation is worsening daily, is misleading and appears intended to score cheap political points.

“This claim, at a time when all indicators show that our country is rebounding significantly across all sectors, casts Obi squarely as Nigeria’s leading doomsayer,” the statement added.

The APC further asserted that the Tinubu administration has made progress in stabilizing the economy and addressing security challenges, contrary to Obi’s claims.
