The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has revealed that it plans to meet with Dangote Refinery over its petrol pricing and lifting.
The President of IPMAN, Abubakar Maigandi disclosed this to DAILY POST in an exclusive interview on Thursday.
Maigandi was reacting to a comment by the Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin that local marketers are boycotting Dangote Refinery Petrol despite being offered lower prices.
Meanwhile, Maigandi clarified that there is no way marketers will boycott Dangote Refinery’s petrol with lower prices.
He noted that IPMAN received a letter of partnership from Dangote Refinery on Wednesday and deliberated on it on Thursday.
He added that petrol marketers have agreed to patronize Dangote Refinery petrol provided the price is not more than the current price.
“In the letter to us, Dangote Refinery said its PMS is ready. The Price was not stated.
“We can’t boycott Dangote Refinery. If Dangote Refinery’s petrol is cheaper, how can marketers boycott the product?
“We are ready to buy Petrol from Dangote Refinery in any condition provided the price is not more than the price we are getting from other places.
“We don’t have any issue with Dangote Refinery”, he told DAILY POST.
He added that NNPCL sells Petrol directly to marketers at an average price of N870 per liter, while the depot sells at N990.
