Senate President Godswill Akpabio led a Senate delegation to pay a condolence visit to a former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, over the demise of his mother, Mrs. Florence Saraki.
Akpabio led the delegation to visit the former Senate President at his Abuja residence on Tuesday.
Among the delegation was the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, and the Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele.
Others were the Senator representing Kwara Central, Saliu Mustapha; the Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, and the Senator representing Bayelsa Central, Benson Konbowei.
Saraki, who took to his X handle to share pictures of the lawmakers’ visit, appreciated them for paying him a visit over the death of his mother.
He wrote, “Grateful to welcome His Excellency, Senator Godswill Akpabio (@Senator_Akpabio), the Senate President, and Senator Jibrin Barau (@Barauijibrin), the Deputy Senate President, along with other Distinguished Senators, to my Abuja residence today for a condolence visit following the passing of my mother.”
PUNCH Online reports that Mrs Saraki died on Tuesday, June 18. at the age of 88, a few weeks before her 89th birthday.
