The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor Foluke Adeboye, were among the over 13,000 worshippers who gathered physically for a life-changing encounter at ‘The Outpouring’, a worship programme convened recently in New York by anointed minstrel and renowned worship revivalist, Minister Dunsin Oyekan.
Aside from the thousands of New Yorkers who were on site, hundreds of thousands of participants followed online across the globe, revelling in the unforgettable experience of what was nothing but a night of encounter.
The movement that visited the United States of America had a first stop at Maryland in March 2024 with what is known popularly as Upper Room Worship Experience, which saw the ten thousand [10,000] seater capacity hall of City of Praise Family Ministries filled to capacity.
It was a night of reckless abandon in worship and heartfelt prayers where diverse miracles and instant testimonies of the same were recorded.
Oyekan had said: “after the Upper Room comes the Outpouring,” a statement that can be traced to back the Apostles experiences in the bible as recorded in the book of Acts of the Apostles.
The saying has left from just being a quote by the worship revivalist to becoming a reality in just barely three months after the Maryland Upper Room Worship Experience.
On June 23, 2024, the phenomenal UBS Arena played host to what can be described as a night of intense worship, fervent intercessory prayers, healing, deliverance, diverse miracles, and massive salvation of souls. This meeting was tagged the Outpouring New York.
The encounter had in attendance well over 13,000 participants worship live in the Arena with hundreds of thousands connected live via the Internet.
Adeboye and his wife, patriarch and matriarch in the Christian community, ministered alongside the convener. Other ministers are Maverick City’s Naomi Raine, Pastor Kunle Ajayi, Oyeleye [Bethel Campus Fellowship], Intervasity Worship team, RCF worship team, Tomi Favoured, among others.
Oyekan attributed the New York feat to the power of God, citing Psalm 110:3. He expressed joy and fulfilment in seeing thousands of young people gather to seek God, the essence of their gathering.
The Outpouring, a live non-denominational revival meeting, is not an event or a concert but a movement where the Holy Spirit pours Himself out without upon everyone.
Having its anchor on three pillars: revival, worship and prayer, the city of New York, experienced first-hand reality seeing thousands of people devoid of race, culture, tradition, colour or age gather together in one room lifting worship to the audience of one God.
The Outpouring had its maiden edition in Lagos Nigeria in the year 2021 and has since then been hosted in the city of Abuja, Ilorin, Canada and now New York. The convener was heard to have said on the stage in New York, “I have heard Australia and London,” but the question in the minds of many is where next?
