Activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, says Nigerians will remain defiant in the face of tyranny and oppression by the Nigerian Government against its citizens.

Sowore stated this in a statement on his official X handle on Tuesday while reacting to the arrest and arraignment of an investigation journalist, Isaac Bristol, also known as PIDOMNigeria.

DAILY POST reports that the Nigeria Police on Tuesday arraigned the whistleblower on charges bothering on money laundering, unlawfully obtaining and disseminating classified official secret documents and cybercrime, at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

He was subsequently sent to prison by Justice Emeka Nwite.

Reacting, Sowore, who lamented that the charges against the journalist are bogus and ridiculous, said he is glad at the suspect’s boldness.

He wrote, “The Federal High Court in Abuja sent Isaac Bristol, AKA ‘PIDOMNigeria’, the whistleblower and investigative journalist, to prison.

“The charges were as bogus and ridiculous as ever. However, I am glad of Isaac’s defiance. We remain defiant against tyranny and oppression.

“They will hear from Nigerians loud and clear very soon.”
