Plateau Urged To Expedite Action On 103,000 IDPs Resettlement

The president of the Mwaghavul Youths Movement, Worldwide, Comrade Sunday Dankaka, has appealed to the Plateau State government to expedite action to resettle over 103,000 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Mangu local government area of the state.

Dankaka made the appeal while speaking to LEADERSHIP Friday in an exclusive interview.

According to him, over 5,011 houses were demolished by this enemy of the state. He stressed that right now no single house was rebuilt for the affected IDPs to go back to.

Dankaka further stated that the Plateau State Government has set up a committee for the resettlement of internally displaced persons, adding that the committee has submitted a draft proposal after collating data on the victims.

He further said the committee is now waiting for the state government to start implementing the draft proposal which has been splitted in phases.
