The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one Ibrahim Mohamed Liman in connection with the tragic death of 8-year-old Kamal Aliyu, who was abducted and killed in the Runjin Gani area of Toro Local Government Area.
The tragic incident was said to have occurred on August 4, 2024, when Kamal was reported missing after being kidnapped by unknown individuals in his home village of Runjin Gani.
The Division Police Officer (DPO) of the Toro Police Division promptly initiated a search and rescue operation to locate the boy and apprehend the perpetrators.
After days of investigation and acting on credible intelligence, police officers arrested 23-year-old Lima, a resident of the same village.
According to the Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, Liman, who was a close neighbour of the victim’s family, confessed during interrogation to conspiring with an accomplice to kidnap Kamal.
