Police Debunks Report of AGN President, Emeka Rollas’ Arrest

The Nigeria Police Force, Zone 9 Headquarters, Umuahia, has refuted reports that the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, was arrested by the command.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, SP Iheanetu Bruno Chukwudera, the police described the report as false and misleading. According to the statement, Rollas was involved in a meeting at a location in Umuahia on January 9, 2025, which turned chaotic, necessitating police intervention.

The police clarified that the parties involved were brought to the command to de-escalate the situation, and that Rollas had earlier petitioned against certain members of the guild, whose activities were under investigation.

The statement emphasized that no one, including Rollas, was detained or intimidated. The Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Suleiman Yusuf, addressed the parties involved, and they all returned home without incident.
