The Enugu State Police Command has issued a warning to young ladies to be cautious about going out with unfamiliar male companions.

Naija News reports that this advisory comes in the wake of a viral video where two young women were reportedly rescued from a hotel room after an alleged attempt to harvest their organs was foiled.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Enugu State Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, clarified that the incident involved commercial sex workers who were robbed by their supposed male clients, who tied them up in the room.

The Enugu State Police Command has intercepted a viral video showing two ladies alleged to have been rescued from a hotel room in Enugu, where they were tied up in an attempt to harvest their organs by two young men,” the statement partly read.

Ndukwe emphasized that preliminary investigations revealed the case involved demands for money with menaces and fraud, rather than organ harvesting or murder.

He explained that the two women, who work as commercial sex workers, met with the men on July 3, 2024, at a hotel on Agbani Road, Enugu.

They arranged another meeting the following day, during which the suspects beat and tied them up in the hotel room’s toilet after demanding their phones, account details, and PINs.

The suspects then escaped the hotel before the women were rescued, as depicted in the video, and fraudulently withdrew a total of N120,000 from the victims’ accounts.

The police recovered a bag containing two kitchen knives and sportswear left behind by the suspects. An intelligence-guided investigation is ongoing to apprehend the suspects.

Hotel owners and managers have been advised to maintain high standards of security alertness, ensuring that guests are properly screened and their details verified before accommodation is provided.

Ndukwe also cautioned young women against going out with unknown individuals, especially men, to avoid falling victim to similar criminal activities.
