Pray for Tinubu, APC secretary urges Nigerians

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Senator Ajibola Basiru, has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu for his administration to succeed in piloting the affairs of the country.

Basiru spoke on Sunday after observing the two-rakat prayers in marking this year’s Eid al ahda celebrations at the Osogbo Central Eid praying ground in Oke Bale, Osogbo, Osun State capital.

Also at the Eid praying ground where Chief Imam of Osogbo, Shiek Musa Animasahun led the prayers, was the Asiwaju Muslim for South West, Edo and Delta States, Dr. Olatunde Badmus, the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji and the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Teslim Igbalaye among others.

Speaking further, Basiru said the festival was significant in many ways, saying that some of the significance being willingness to sacrifice, humility and obedience to God’s command.

“So, we urge Nigerians to continue to be dedicated to piety, integrity, humility and to continue to see selflessness as the hallmark of sacrifice that will enable us to have a better society.

“We felicitate with all Muslims and also Nigerians on this very occasion. We urged them to continue to pray for the success of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Basiru said.

Meanwhile, major streets in Osogbo, Osun State capital, were free of traffic on Sunday as Muslim ummah stormed various Eid praying to observe prayers.

There was also a last minute rush to buy ram for the celebration, as prices of the animal witnessed a little drop from the amount they were sold previously.

At Oke Baale Area, many potential buyers were observed bargaining for the animals Sunday morning.

During an interview, a ram seller in the area who identified himself simply Amadou, said “We have to drop the prices because after today, we may not be able to sell again. Some rams that I sold for N250, 000 on Saturday, I have to drop the price to N210, 000 this morning. The market is rather dull.”
