Any event that is worth its onus must be prepared for. Nobody wants to organise or attend a half-hazard event. It does not matter the calibre of the event, people must prepare for it, whether it is birthday, wedding, coronation, christening, launching, graduation, matriculation, ordination, among others, some form of preparations must always precede it. What actually is the essence of these preparations? It is to see that the occasion in question goes as planned, that there would be no hitches on the day of the event. If it is worthwhile to prepare for the mundane things of this world, the secular things of the world so that there will be no disappointments or failures in one way or the other, what about meeting God? Do we need to prepare to meet Him?
Moreover, when we want to meet important personalities, we prepare ourselves and do the best we can. Anyone who has an appointment with a governor, senator or even the chairman of a local council, prepares himself or herself before meeting such people. Yet, these are human beings that have limitations and can die at any time.
Therefore, the pertinent question at this juncture is, do we need to prepare to meet our God? And the answer is, yes! God is an Awesome Being in heaven. He has no beginning and no ending. The Omnipotent Jehovah, the self-existing God, Who has power to do all things. We need to tremble before Him. Therefore, if we desire to meet God, we must prepare ourselves and make sure that we are immaculately and resplendently dressed.
In our text above, God told Moses to go and sanctify the people and make them wash their clothes, not to come near their wives. Washing their clothes means that they live or appear holy. God is a holy God and for any man to meet with the Lord, such a person must live holy. 1 Peter 1v15-16 says: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation.16: Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.” God says: “Be you holy because he is holy, therefore, you must not appear before God anyhow. This is the period we usually hold the crusade titled:“…And The Enemies Submitted.”This programme is organised once in two years, so, it is not a common programme.
Rather, it is a crusade that we need to prepare with all seriousness, give it all we have. Even the name of the programme is enough to elicit unshakable seriousness in our preparation because your enemies will not treat you with kid’s gloves; they are facing you with the fullness of their wrath. And if that is the case, will you appear anyhow before God? God forbid!
I want you to see why these enemies will not play with you. Rev.12v7-12 says: “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon fought and his angels.8: And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.9: And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.10: And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.11: And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.12: Therefore, rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”
So you see, because the devil knows he can never enter heaven again, he came down with great wrath against the inhabitants of the earth, especially, the children of God. The only way to run away from him and his evil machination is to run to God in holiness and righteousness.
At this juncture, for you to prepare for this great event, you should go into fervent prayers and fasting, engage in diligent publicity. Do things that will make God to be happy with you and fight your enemies for you. God will bless all the members who have the capacity and are willing to sponsor the crusade. For instance, all our buses are broken down and need repairs. We also need fuel to run the vehicles, among others. There are many things you can do to curry the favour of God in this coming crusade. It is just about six days to the D-day. This is our last week for the preparation of the programme, therefore, do not allow anything to hinder you from preparing yourself for this great event.
Remember that we are talking about meeting the Almighty God, Who has no equal. He asked Jeremiah in Jer. 32v27: “Behold l am the Lord, the God of all flesh, is anything too hard for me?” Nothing is too hard for God. What is that case confronting you? As you prepare and come to God in this crusade, He will intervene and deal with that situation.
Maybe, as you are reading this message, you have not surrendered your life to Christ; this is a big opportunity for you to do so, because there is no more time left. Remember, it is appointed unto men once to die and after that, judgment. Amend your ways now before it is too late. Mark8v36-37 says: “What shall it profit you to gain the whole world and you lose your soul or what shall you give in exchange of your soul?”
1Tim2 v3-4 says: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour who will have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.”
God wants all men to be saved, including you, so, do not disappoint God.
