President Tinubu designates a senior special assistance for livestock development

The nomination of Mr. Idris Ajimobi as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development (Office of the President) has been authorized by President Bola Tinubu.

The appointment comes after a new Ministry of Livestock Development was established and the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms was recently constituted.

The President wants to use Nigeria’s agricultural potential—including the ecosystem associated with animal husbandry—to promote long-term, sustainable economic growth, establish new businesses and employment opportunities, and end violent disputes between farmers and herders.

Regarding issues pertaining to this crucial industry, the President anticipates effective coordination and liaison.
