President Tinubu Reappoints Duna As DG, NBRRI

President Bola Tinubu has given the green light for Prof. Samson Duna to continue his role as the head of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) for an additional four years.

This was confirmed in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by Peter Mashem, the Deputy Director of Information at NBRRI.

Mashem mentioned that Duna’s tenure extension was communicated through a letter from the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Sen. George Akume.

Mashem noted that Duna has been leading the Institute since he took over in 2020.

“Duna is an erudite Professor of Civil Engineering from Billiri Local Government of Gombe State.

“As a COREN Registered Engineer, Duna is also a member of the following professional bodies; Member, Nigerian Institute of Engineering Management (MNIEM) and Fellow, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (FNICE).

“He is a Fellow, Nigerian Association for Engineering Geology and the Environment (FNAEGE) and Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE).

“He is also Council Member of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and a member of the Industrial/Sectorial Board for the Regional Transport Research and Education Centre, Kumasi (TRECK), Ghana, ” he said.

Tinubu’s Foreign Trips Yielding Results – Trade Minister

Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, has said the foreign trips of President Bola Tinubu is yielding results in foreign direct investment into the country.
Speaking in an interview with Arise TV on Monday, Oduwole said she and her team have tracked the President’s foreign business trips for the last 17 months.

“All the trips that His Excellency, Mr President, as the chief investment officer of this administration has done over the last 17 months, tracking those trips. What exactly has come out of it? The trip to India, the promises. Just in September, some were actualized on the back of some of our monetary and fiscal policies.

“So, tracking all that and announcing to Nigerians where we are with investments,” she said.

The Minister of Trade and Investment added that she has been engaging with stakeholders to grow Nigeria’s exports.
