Real Madrid’s rising star, Endrick, has revealed his all-time favourite footballers who he described as his idols in the game.

The 18-year-old Endrick, who made his La Liga home debut against Valladolid on August 25, said Cristiano Ronaldo, Sir Bobby Charlton, Ferenc Puskas, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham are his top five favourite players of all time.

While it’s no surprise that he included Cristiano Ronaldo, given the Portuguese icon’s influence on him and his dream of playing for Real Madrid, the inclusion of his new teammates Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham raised eyebrows.

Endrick’s selections demonstrate his deep footballing knowledge and may reflect the impact these players had on him during his formative years.

Despite the retirement of legends such as Sir Bobby Charlton and Ferenc Puskas long before Endrick was born, he paid homage to their greatness by including them in his list. On how much influence Cristiano Ronaldo who played for Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, has on him, Endrick told Daily Mail that it was a thing of pride to be playing for the Spanish giants just like his idol.

“My dream since I was little, has always been to play for Real Madrid,” Endrick said. “Cristiano Ronaldo is one of my biggest idols. So it is a great pride to know that I will wear the same shirt he wore.”
