Remo Stars’ head coach, Daniel Ogunmodede, expressed his joy at extending his contract with the club ahead of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League and the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaigns.

Daniel Ogunmodede signed a new three-year deal with Remo Stars that will see him continue as the head coach of the club until 2027.

Speaking about his contract extension, Ogunmodede emphasized his deep connection with the club and his dedication to the project. He described the trust placed in him by the club as an immense motivation as they prepare for the upcoming season.

“Saying I am glad is an understatement for me. This is my club, my project. I’ve been here for a couple of years now, doing my thing and working relentlessly hard with a consistent behavioral pattern,” Ogunmodede told the club media.

“The good thing is I am happy that the club can see what I’ve done so far to have counted me worthy to have another (contract) extension. It is a big motivation for me to know that they appreciate what I’ve done so far.”

Ogunmodede’s journey with Remo Stars began in 2016 when he joined as an assistant head coach. Under his guidance, the team secured promotion to the top flight from the second division in 2021.

After a stint with their sister club in Portugal, Feirense, Ogunmodede returned to Nigeria in 2022 to take on the role of head coach. His leadership led the team to a second-place finish in the abridged 2023 season and a close title challenge the following season.

The upcoming season holds significant fixtures for Remo Stars, starting with a CAF Champions League preliminary game against AS FAR Rabat of Morocco at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 18, followed by their first match in the new NPFL season against Abia Warriors.
