The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, has urged Lagosians to report infractions anywhere in the state.

He made this call in Alausa recently during a strategic planning meeting.

“Proper planning cannot be done without the support and contribution of the people. This is why my doors are always open for residents of Lagos to make their complaints, report any observed untoward developments, and contribute generally to the sustainable development of the State, “he said.

Whilst assuring the ministry’s readiness to discharge its regulatory roles without favour, he enjoined every Lagosian to work for a sustainable Lagos by ensuring they escalate infractions as soon as they notice them.

He added, “Officers of the Ministry and its agencies had been advised to remain conscientious and not support illegality, as any officer found culpable would be dealt with according to laid-down rules and regulations.

“Various avenues had been provided for the people to whistle-blow, including through direct reports to the office of the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, through the Lagos MPP&UD App on Google or iOS, and the following ministry’s hotlines: 07030653241 and 08034698264.

“Whistleblowers, who are always protected by the state, were genuine friends of the built environment whose impact in achieving a liveable, organised, and sustainable physical environment cannot be underestimated.”
