Reps Pass N288bn Additional Supplementary Budget For FCTA

The House of Representatives yesterday passed for third reading the N288 billion additional supplementary statutory budget (Appropriation Bill) for the Federal Capital Territory (FCTA).

This followed the earlier consideration and adoption of the report of the Committee on FCT at plenary.
The report standing in the name of the chairman, House committee on FCT, Hon. Aliyu Mukhtar Betara (APC, Borno) was considered at the Committee of Supply and adopted
when the House revert to plenary.

Consequently, the House suspended its relevant rules and the bill (budget) was read for the third time, hence due for harmonisation with the Senate and transmission to the president for assent.

“That the House do consider the Report of the Committee on Federal Capital Territory on a Bill for an Act to authorise the issue from the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s Statutory evenue Fund of the Federal Capital Territory Administration account, the total sum of 288,000,000,000 (Two
Hundred and-Eighty-Eight Billion) only, of which the sum of N31, 100, 000(thirty-one billion, one hundred million Naira) only is for Over Head Costs; while the sum of N256, 900, 000 (two hundred and fifty six billion, nine hundred million Naira) only, is for Capital Projects; for the Service of the Federal Capital TerritoryAdministration, Abuja, for the Financial year ending 31 December, 2024” (Laid: 26/9/2024) –Committee of Supply,” the report read in parts.
