Residents Laud Soludo Over Road Projects

The people of Awba-Ofemmili in Awka North and Orumba-North LGAs of Anambra State have praised Governor Chukwuma Soludo for opening up their communities to other parts of the state and the neighbouring states with tarred roads.

Also, a human-rights activist and convener of “Recover Nigeria Project,” Comrade Osita Obi who conducted newsmen round some projects done by the Soludo government within over two years now the administration on Friday stated that he decided to embark on the project tour because he was impressed with the achievements of the government.

“As a private citizen, I decided to lead this tour to show that the people’s perception of government projects differs from the government’s own perspective.

“And because I am impressed with what the Soludo government has done in many critical areas, especially on roads, I decided to take it upon myself to take newsmen round to also see what I have seen which is the good works of the Professor Chukwuma Soludo government.

“It is always necessary to commend government when it has achieved and not only to criticise the government when it does not perform well,” he said.

He urged the people of Anambra State to re-elect Governor Soludo to enable him accomplish his mission for the state.

In his reaction, Chinedu Oraekie, a native of the Awba-Ofemmili community who said he had lived in the area for 46 years, expressed joy that the tarred road constructed by the Soludo government from Amansea to the community has opened the hitherto locked-up communities for easy access by people of other parts of the state and beyond.

“I never thought I would see a tarred road in this area. We are grateful to Governor Soludo and will vote for him again,” he said.

In a similar manner, a lawyer and native of Awba-Ofemmili, Mr Augustine Agwuna, noted that the tapered road project in their community has increased the value of housing estates in the area, saying that the development has started attracting developers and bringing new life to the community.

Meanwhile, the people of Awba-Ofemmili have appealed to the state government to complete the Ayamelum link-road to make their joy complete.

Another landmark project of the government toured by newsmen was the Amansea-Ezinator-Ndi-Ukwuenu-Ufuma road which traversed three two local governments from Awka-South, Awka-North and Orumba-North.
