‘Resume Work Or Face Sanction’ – Philip Shaibu Resumes Duty, Issues Directives To Staff

1 month ago 2

The reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, has resumed office and has directed his staff to follow suit or face consequences.

Naija News reports that Shaibu made this known on Monday in a video broadcast shared via his X handle.

The Deputy Governor recalled the judgement of the Federal High Court, which reinstated him and acknowledged the illegality of his impeachment.

Shaibu said upon his return to Edo State following the delivery of the court judgment, an assassination attempt was made on his life, but the bullet missed its mark.

Sadly, the bullet hit the police officer attached to the Edo State All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship candidate for the upcoming September 21 election.

The reinstated deputy governor said he was informed that some suspects had been arrested and provided information regarding the tragic incident.

Shaibu said he had requested the state governor’s approval for the reinstatement of his aides upon his return to office but has still not received a response to this formal request.

Shaibu further issued a directive to those yet to resume work since his reinstatement to do so or face sanction.

He added that in line with the court judgement, his office was never vacant, and all bank transactions done in his absence remain illegal and void.
