The 2024/25 season may have just begun, but many teams and players are already setting their sights on their goals and ambitions.

FC Barcelona had a 2023/24 campaign to forget, finishing not only behind their arch-rivals Real Madrid but also barely edging out the surprise package Girona in the La Liga standings.

However, following this disappointing season, which ended with the dismissal of manager, Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona's star forward, Robert Lewandowski, has issued a subtle warning to Real Madrid, hinting at what they can expect from Barcelona this campaign.

Lewandowski sends warning to Real Madrid

Speaking in an interview upon his side's arrival in the United States of America for the commencement of their pre-season tour, the Polish striker, as captured by Barca Universal, stated that the Catalan outfit head into the season with renewed motivation.

"Real Madrid? What happened last year is a great motivation for us. We are Barcelona, and we need to take a step forward," Lewandowski said."Barça always aims to win, and the players always have titles in mind. But right now, we are focused on preparing well for the season."

The 35-year-old also stressed he looks to score more goals than he recorded last season.

According to data courtesy of Fotmob, Lewandowski scored fewer goals in his second season with Barcelona than he did in his maiden campaign.

Lewandowski and Barcelona will lock horns with Real Madrid for the first time this season on October 27.

Real Madrid duo shine in training

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Real Madrid's young stars Endrick and Arda Güler have quickly demonstrated impressive chemistry, linking up for two goals during a recent training session.

As the team intensifies their pre-season preparations, Güler and new signing Endrick were paired together in their first training session.

The attacking duo played on the same side and in a video shared on social media, it did not take long for the two youngsters to strike up something of an understanding, laying on goals for one another.
