Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday, visited the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on the occasion of the Sallah celebration.
Spokesperson to the First Lady, BusolaKukoyi, made this known in a post alongside a photo of both leaders via her X handle, yesterday.
Kukoyi said the former President came on a visit to felicitate with the wife of the President in Lagos.
This is coming barely 48 hours after Obasanjo was seen donning a cap with President Bola Tinubu’s insignia.
A video of Obasanjo wearing a cap branded with Tinubu’s insignia at an event attended by some African dignitaries trended at the weekend.
Obasanjo and Tinubu are known to belong to different political affiliations despite coming from the same South-West geopolitical zone.
Obasanjo had on May 27, 2024 berated the Tinubu administration over the poor implementation of the removal of the fuel subsidy as well as the floating of the naira.
The former President said though the policies were necessary, they were wrongly implemented.
According to a statement made available to journalists on Sunday by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo also condemned Nigeria’s approach to the coup in the Republic of Niger.
