Samuel Chukwueze Says He Wants To Play With Osimhen At AC Milan

Super Eagles of Nigeria winger Samuel Chukwueze is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to team up with Victor Osimhen in the attacking line-up of AC Milan.

Chukwueze made a high-profile move to the Rossoneri during the 2023 summer transfer window from Villarreal for a considerable €20 million, accompanied by substantial bonuses, making him the club’s most expensive signing of that summer.

His debut season in Italy was challenging due to a series of injuries that limited his playing time. However, Chukwueze has shown promising signs for the upcoming season by delivering standout performances during AC Milan’s pre-season tour of the United States.

He notably scored the winning goal against the reigning UEFA Champions League winner, Real Madrid, and provided several assists.

As the new season approaches, the 24-year-old expressed his desire to see Osimhen, who has been the subject of transfer rumours, join him in Milan.

Chukwueze humorously mentioned that he keeps urging Osimhen to consider a move to Milan, but Osimhen acknowledges the difficulty of such a decision.

“I would like to close my eyes, open them again, and see him here in Milan. I always say to him, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to come?’ And he says, ‘Samuel, you know it’s difficult.’” Chukwueze said, according to Pianetamilan.

Osimhen, a highly sought-after striker, has been linked with several top clubs including Chelsea, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Liverpool. However, potential suitors have been deterred by his substantial €130 million release clause, leading Chelsea to consider a loan offer for the prolific forward.

Recall that Osimhen made a club-record transfer from Lille to Napoli in the summer of 2020 for a fee of €70 million, with the possibility of an additional €10 million in bonuses.

He has been in exceptional form for Napoli, notably playing a key role in securing their first Scudetto title in over thirty years during the 2022/23 season by scoring an impressive 26 league goals, thereby earning the top scorer award.
