An India-born socialite, Chief Sanjay Jain, is of the opinion that his home country’s independence in 1942 paved the way for its economic growth, as it is currently ranked among the top five economies in the world.

As the country recently celebrated its Independence Day, Jain said, “Independence allowed our leaders to make decisions that benefited our people and country, resulting in consistent economic growth. Today, India’s economy stands at number five in the world, and this achievement is a testament to the power of independence.”

He added that the country’s independence from its British colonial masters fostered an environment conducive for business growth, innovation and entrepreneurship.

He also stated that it enabled the country to create its own policies, regulations, and laws, which, he argued, had attracted foreign investment, boost exports, and fuelled economic expansion.

Emphasising the importance of educating the younger generation about the country’s history, he said, “The independence we enjoy today was achieved with huge sacrifices. We must imbibe good manners and educate the youth about our freedom struggle to enable them value the independence,” he said.

Jain went on to say that his journey as a community leader was shaped by India’s independence.

“Growing up, I heard stories about India’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices made by our leaders. Those stories then inspired me to contribute to the country’s growth and development,” he said.
