The PEARL Awards Nigeria has received a boost as the Securities and Exchange Commission has endorsed it.

In a statement, the President and Chief Executive Officer of PEARL Awards Nigeria, Tayo Orekoya, stated that the awards, which recognise and reward excellence among companies, are important to ensure the event is memorable.

“Our 30th anniversary edition next year will be a landmark occasion, and we are committed to hosting an event that showcases our dedication to promoting excellence and transparency in Nigeria’s capital market,” he said.

Orekoya stated that, revealing that the award’s board of governors had opted to streamline the event to either a biennial or triennial format starting in 2025, adding that the move was designed to enhance the quality and impact of the awards in recognising top-performing companies.

Orekoya charged the committee to introduce fresh ideas and innovative solutions that address the current economic challenges while maintaining the awards’ longstanding tradition of objective and data-driven recognition of corporate excellence.

He added that over the years, the awards have played a role in driving the growth and development of the market by recognising companies that demonstrate exceptional operational and stock performance.
