Senate Assigns New Office To Ndume On 4th Floor

The Senate has re-assigned an office to former Chief Whip, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, on the 4th Floor of the Senate New Wing.

Ndume, recently relieved of his duties as chief whip, had declined an office offered to him on the 3rd Floor the previous day, stating that it contradicted Senate rules which dictate that senior-ranking Senators should be allocated offices on the 4th Floor.

In a letter addressed to Ndume on Wednesday, July 31, Senator Sunday Karimi, the chairman of the Senate Services Committee, informed him that a new office on the 4th Floor had been secured for him.

The letter, titled “Re: Office Allocation,” and signed by Siyaka Abdulwahab Sadiq, the Director/Clerk to the Committee, stated: “I am pleased to inform you that the Chairman of the Committee on Senate Services has approved the allocation of office number 4.31 (4th floor), New Wing, Senate Building to you.
“Please be advised that this letter supersedes the previous one issued on July 29, 2024.

“Kindly coordinate with the Secretary of the Estate and Works Directorate, located at office number 0.28, New Wing, Senate Building, to complete the necessary documentation and obtain the keys.”
